In what ways do you use your trade dollars?
Monthly storage rental, dining out, children’s birthday parties, auto repair & maintenance, and airplane charter rental.
What is the most exciting thing you have purchased on trade?
Besides my airplane charter rentals and flying lessons, I also put on a huge birthday party for my daughter Lindsay who turned 7. I was able to purchase the moon bounce rental, the Magician along with his popcorn and cotton candy machine, and even the pizza all on trade! A few years ago I actually won a weekend trip for two to Cape Cod from BNI for winning a referral contest in which I submitted over a dozen referrals of which 3 people joined the network. The trip was great, I bartered in gift shops, my restaurant meals and even whale watching on trade!
What benefits have you experienced as a result of trading through BNI?
I have considered BNI to an invaluable business tool especially when cash flow is tight. I simply trade what I have for things that I need without paying cash! It’s a win-win situation.
What advice do you have for business owners that are not currently bartering?
How can you afford not to? It is a business decision that should not be overlooked. If you need more customers, then you need to barter.
What is the most common reason people need to call a locksmith for?
There are many reasons for needing a locksmith but people call me quite frequently due to being locked out of their homes and automobiles. It’s always good to memorize my phone number or program it into their cell phones so they have it on-hand when they need it.
Under what circumstance would you recommend a person to change the locks on their home or business?
Anytime someone moves in or out of a home or apartment, it is a good idea to get the locks changed right away. You never know who has kept a copy of the key. With businesses, anytime an employee is terminated who had access to the building, locks should be rekeyed.
